Under the culinary direction of Chef Somoza, Flora’s menu captures the spirit of Mediterranean seaside towns from Saint Tropez to Capri to Marbella, spotlighting the bountiful seafood and vibrant produce that are hallmarks of coastal cuisine. With a passion for fresh ingredients rooted in his childhood in the Spanish countryside, picking wild blackberries and foraging mushrooms and wild asparagus, Chef Somoza is drawn to local, farm-to-table cooking.

Flora

The Flora menu is made up of regional ingredients such as sweet corn, seasonal vegetables and fruits, local seafood and small farm sourced meats, and is anchored by a crudo bar and fish main courses including Dover Sole, Bank Scallops, pan seared halibut. A skilled pastry chef and boulanger, Somoza is also putting an emphasis on quality breads and an impressive offering of house-made pastries and ice cream, and the most delicious creme brulee.

Studio Bar

The Studio Bar has quickly become the place to be year round in Newport. People are drawn to the art and design and the way it feels like a place that’s come together through art and interior elements collected through travels and passed down from family members.

Like the aesthetic of the hotel and the guest rooms, Studio Bar has a house-like feel – it could be the living room bar of someone who has collected artwork from travels around the globe. The space features an eclectic collection from different places – it’s a little New York, a little London and a lot of Newport. And the drinks - the drinks are the best.
